Like Deep - Mark's Blog and AWC update

Hey everybody,

I just wanted to let you know that Mark Brewin also has a blog called:

Like Deep
A Dialouge Between the Imaginative Texts of Photography and Poetry/Prose.

Here is is first entry:
"so here it is, my first real finger print on this blogspot.

the artist statement will change, the cv/resume will grow;
the poetry and photographs will continue to add up.

what will it all do? what will it try to capture?
well, this is how you'll see it work, this is what you'll see in common
with all of my artwork: the people.

i write poetry about the people i come across--the lives
and messes and pieces each one stirs and leaves, the myth
and fact that swirls, the dialogue that is played between
how i/we live and the community i/we exist in. the photographs
function in much the same way--become another type
of imaginative text that has an induced fiction, as well as
pertinent documentation of every ringing ebb and facet of our society.

all of the posts will be poetry and photography--together,
or the occasional thought. but then again (now that i think
about it) my art and writing is only as good as your opinion--
hell, i've always thought that art is made for viewers, and poetry
for readers...so hopefully i'll find the intermittent remark.

so: view, read, talk to me.

Now What...

Hi everybody, I haven't posted in a while but I think it's time for some updates.

First off, I want to thank everybody who came out to the screening, you guys are all amazing. I also want to thank everybody who helped make the movie, whether it be on set or off. Everybody has been incredibly supportive and amazing while doing things solely out of the kindness of their hearts.

I especially want to thank Danielle, who was not only the best producer of all time, but the best person I could ask for. There were many times I was stuck in a slump, creatively or emotionally, and she helped me out.

As I write this blog, I am creating the DVD for the movie. There are still some things I'd like to work on (sound, color correcting etc.) but overall the movie is done and I want to make sure that all the people that were so amazing get their copies.

So, the movie is now done, and, therefore, so is this blog. It's time for this blog to transition from only being about the movie. I will now be posting stories, clips, and random thoughts as well as "Witness Carol" updates. To start things off, here is my submission for The Colbert Report's "Make McCain Interesting" challenge. For a while, this video was the top video on the homepage, and because of that, it currently has nearly 9,000 views on Youtube. So, here is the video...

Make McCain Exciting: The WALL-E Edition!
